TABO – Comp Rules
Welcome to the TABO RC crawling competition rules for 2025.
There will be 2 classes;
- class 2
- unlimited buggy class
The cost to enter the comps are:
- class 2 – $20 per truck
- buggy – free
Rules:
The final say will be the comp director – if you don’t like it start your own comp series
- Once the drivers meeting late entries are allowed, however you forfeit the right to complain about anything as you didn’t show up on time
- Part of the drivers meeting will be to walk the course and know where the gates are; any issues with any of the gates WILL be addressed there, once the comp starts there will be ZERO changes
- All calls are made by the host, and are final; if you have any issues with that stay home
- All gates are always live – each gate is worth 10 points, so if you hit 2 gates that’s 20 points
- If you step on or move a gate with anything including your body, truck, shoes, etc – it’s 10 points
- In order to progress through any gate – 4 tires at minimum have to travel between the 2 gates
- if a gate has been struck or hit, only 2 tires need to progress between the 2 gates
- Points system works like any other comp – you want the lowest score like golf:
- Reverse – 1 point added
- Hitting a gate – 10 points added
- Rollover (in place – only 2 tires can touch during the roll or this will be a reposition) – 5 points added
- Reposition – 10 points added
- Winch of any kind to include tow rope – 5 points – this will be counted as 5 this year last year it was 3
- Bonus gate – minus 10 points
- Successful clearing of each gate – minus 2 points
- Hitting a boundary line (if there are any) – 10 points
- if a gate is not completed that is 40 points per gate not completed add to your score – example if you dnf at gate 1 without progress you will have a score of 400 minimum
- All gates WILL be traveled through in the marked direction, if you choose to reverse the direction then drive through that’s an additional 10 points
- Kinetic winching is allowed with the following exceptions:
- if the stick is moved after placed that is an additional 5 points per move
- it is recommended to put a mechanical winch on your truck to prevent any issues with the kinetic winch
The class 2 rules are as follows:
- no dig, or 4ws
- have to have 6 scale items metal bumpers, sliders, and roll bars count as a scale item – no scale points
- NOTE: Only 2 items of the same thing count; example only 2 shackles count towards the 6 items, so if you have 6 shackles you still need 4 other scale items
- if the item is the same thing but different shape, size, etc, it’s still not counted.
- body has to be 4.25” tall; and has to cover rear part of the frame (meaning chassis rails only can’t be exposed)
- 4.75 tires – all 4.75 tires are legal EXCEPT pin tires – have to be between 4.2 and 4.75 written on them from the factory – this allows for the use of ANY tire that fits the size requirements
- gates will be 12” wide minimum
- Rebuys will be allow with 20 trucks or less comping, and the fee is the same as the entry fee – no longer double
- Course will be 10 gates plus bonus
- The time will be dropped from 10 minutes to 6.5 minutes to save time
- This means the gates will be easier to accommodate the shorter time period
- top 3 payout; 1st gets 80 percent of the pot, 2nd gets 15 percent, and 3rd gets 5 percent
- Gates will be setup by at least 2 people to keep the comp fair
- One driver can enter with a max of 2 trucks, and can’t do back to back runs
- Only the highest score of the 2 trucks will pay out; meaning you can no longer take 2 places in the top three – this includes re-buys
